Overview

Use this guide to understand why questions are deleted, how to delete your own question, and what happens after deletion.

Why questions are deleted

Questions may be deleted if they:

  • Don't meet your site's guidelines.
  • Don't provide lasting value to other contributors.
  • Remain low quality after being closed.

For guidance on improving your question, see How do I ask a good question?.

Delete your own question

You can delete your own question if it:

  • Has no answers.
  • Has only one answer and that answer has no upvotes.

To delete your question, select Manage, then Delete.

Deleted questions

When you delete a question:

  • The post no longer appears to other contributors.
  • You can still view the question.
  • You can undelete the question.

Undelete a question

If you deleted your own question, select Manage, then Undelete.

If you have questions or issues, reach out to our support team for help.
